Overview
The Voltaren Emulgel, made by the manufacturer, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that provides back pain relief and reduces inflammation at the site of an injury. It is applied directly to the skin where the injury has occurred. The Emulgel is available in a wide range of strengths, including 1% to 8% and up to 25% of a general-use pain medicine.
Directions for Use
For adults and children 12 years and over: Consult your doctor before using this product. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Do not use if you are allergic to diclofenac, aspirin, or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or naproxen. If you are allergic to aspirin, ibuprofen, or other anti-inflammatory drugs, diclofenac should be used with food. If you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy, do not use for 3 months. If you are in the first 6 months of pregnancy, use the 1% gel at least twice a day. If an allergic reaction occurs, discontinue use and notify your doctor. If the skin is exposed to direct sunlight or treated with a sunblock additive, do not use. If the skin is damaged or broken, use the 1% gel. Do not use for more than 3 months for any reason. Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about the proper use of this product.
